All public sector social housing has to be designed and built to achieve level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes and in 2010 this standard is to be raised to level 4 of the Code. The Adaptahaus is designed to conform to level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes and, in addition to this, being entirely factory pre-fabricated, quality control will guarantee its high standard of build and site construction time will be at an absolute minimum.

The incorporated steel lift shaft, which provides additional support and rigidity for the steel frame, will allow linked social housing units to be built to 3 storeys.
